About

Award-Winning Author. Expat Mom. Chaos Enthusiast.

I write children’s books that help kids name the big, scary emotions nobody taught us to talk about as children. My books have hit the Amazon Best Seller list, and I Can Overcome My Sadness won the Mom’s Choice Award in 2024. The My Inner Monster series is now in classrooms, therapists’ offices, and bedtime rotations in over 20 countries.

I’m also the author of Mom Interrupted—a survival guide for mothers who love their kids fiercely and also need everyone to stop touching them for five minutes.

The Backstory

I’m an American living in Munich, Germany with my two boys (ages 5 and 3) and a husband who works in tech. Before I was a published author, I was just a mom who couldn’t find a single children’s book that talked about emotions without being preachy, boring, or both.

So I wrote one. Then another. Then it turned into a series. Then Amazon put “Best Seller” next to my name and I had to sit down for a minute.

By day, I work in automotive tech (specifically in safety and compliance—yes, it’s as thrilling as it sounds). By night, I write stories about monsters made of feelings, survival guides for moms on the edge, and occasionally blog posts that probably reveal too much about my personal life.

What I Write

  • The My Inner Monster Series (ages 4-8) — Picture books that turn anger, anxiety, shame, and sadness into characters kids can understand and manage
  • The I Can Overcome Series (ages 4-8) — Books about resilience, bullying, grief, and celebrating differences
  • Mom Interrupted — A 21-day mental cleanse for parents who need permission to be imperfect

All my books are available in English and Spanish. Browse them here.

Let’s Connect

I’m most active on Instagram and TikTok, where I post about the reality of expat parenting, indie publishing, and the creative process (by which I mean: procrastinating creatively).
