Is This Chaos Normal? A Boy Mom’s Confession

#BoyMomLife #MomHumor #ParentingFails

Welcome to the boy-mom jungle. Population: me, two little tornadoes disguised as human children, and a husband who thinks every mishap is “character building.” Boy moms, are you okay? Because I’m pretty sure my last functioning brain cell waved goodbye this morning when my toddler tried to “fix” his brother’s toy by using peanut butter as glue.

Speaking of chaos, here’s a gem from last week: I walked into the bathroom to find my toddler standing on the sink, fully naked, finger-painting the mirror… with toothpaste. I froze, completely dumbfounded. Do I yell? Do I cry? Do I applaud his creativity? Why didn’t anyone tell me this would happen? Add that to the #ParentingFails highlight reel.

Boy moms, you get it. It’s #RealMomLife, filled with #MessyMoments and a constant chorus of “DON’T LICK THAT.” Honestly, no one prepared me for the sheer level of destruction boys can bring while still being somehow adorable. But as exhausting as it is, these wild, unfiltered moments are what inspired me to write books focused on Social Emotional Learning (SEL).

Why SEL Matters
The chaos of #LifeWithToddlers isn’t just about surviving—it’s about shaping tiny humans into emotionally intelligent, resilient adults. Studies show that children who are taught to manage their emotions in supportive environments are more likely to succeed in school, maintain healthy relationships, and manage stress effectively as adults

SEL gives kids the tools to navigate emotions and conflict while fostering empathy and understanding. That’s why my books are designed to help kids—and parents—start these conversations early. If you’re in the trenches of #ParenthoodUnfiltered, trust me: teaching your kids to handle their feelings will make everyone’s life easier.

A Heartfelt Invitation
My latest book, I Can Overcome Sadness, is a story for parents and kids who are struggling with big feelings. It’s a hug in book form—a gentle, encouraging way to help your little ones understand their emotions and find their way through. This book is my love letter to moms everywhere trying to guide their kids in a world that sometimes feels overwhelming.

Want to check it out? You can grab it on Amazon or visit the book’s landing page on my website. If you’re in the middle of a #ToddlerLife meltdown, this book might be the thing you both need.

So, here’s to the #BoyMomChronicles. The sticky, loud, laugh-out-loud moments that make us want to scream and smile in equal measure. You’re doing amazing, mama. And if no one’s told you today, it’s okay to hide in the bathroom for five minutes. I won’t tell.
